Annual maintenance contract – Sanitary installation

The Provincial law Q2 r-22, concerning septic installation indicates that an annual maintenance contract is required for certain septic installations (type Ecoflo, Bionest, Enviro-Septic, etc.).  A copy of the contract must be sent to the municipality.

If you have this type of installation, and if it has not already been done, you must make an agreement with an accredited supplier and send us a copy of the contract.

Quebec Waste Reduction Week year-round fot 2023

This year, the Quebec Waste Reduction Week will take place throughout the year. Each month, a theme is addressed. March is food waste.

3,6 M$ has been invested to reduce food waste. RECYC-QUÉBEC supports 15 initiatives in Quebec.

What is food loss and waste?

It is defined as any edible part of food intended for human consumption that is diverted, degraded, lost or discarded at any stage of the bio-food system, including food recovery and redistribution and at the consumer level.

 Key facts

According to 2022 data, 7.5 million tons of food enter the Quebec biofood system. Of this amount, 1.2 million tons, or 16%, of edible food needed to meet the food demands of Quebecers is lost or wasted. Our bio-food system in Quebec generates 20 M tons of greenhouse gases (GHG) of which 3.6 M tons are directly associated with edible food, which represents 18%.

The various initiatives have environmental, social and economic benefits in all regions of Quebec, thanks to these mobilizing and innovative projects.

Let’s try to be inspired by them! Free conferences are offered to equip citizens to improve our daily practices. https://jourdelaterre.org/qc/tous-les-jours/programmes/a-vos-frigos/
