Notice of Mailbox Relocation – Update

Please be advised that Canada Post will be moving the seven sets of mailboxes located at 601 chemin de la Gare. They will be relocated to 628 chemin de la Gare.

Major work is planned for the City Hall at 601 chemin de la Gare, making the move necessary to ensure the safety of users and Canada Post employees.

The move has been postponed until late June or early July.

On the calendar

The next Council meeting will be held on Monday, June 19 at 7:30 p.m. The Mayor and Council members will welcome you at City Hall, 601 chemin de la Gare. It is also possible to attend by videoconference. We invite you to consult the public notice that will be published on June 12, for all the details.

The project to move the City Hall building to 628 chemin de la Gare is progressing. This move will involve major work that will require careful planning with the various stakeholders involved in this historic adventure. Watch for the notice boards that will soon be installed for this purpose.

The current site will be replaced by a brand new construction that will begin during the summer.

On another note, work on chemin Lacasse / Montée Daoust is scheduled to begin in early June. We are working in collaboration with the stakeholders to facilitate local traffic despite the work. Keep an eye on the “info-travaux” tab on the home page of our website! The new schedule will be published there before the work begins.

Sweeping and lining of public roads

Quebec Week for the Disabled

The Semaine québécoise des personnes handicapées is celebrated from June 1st to 7th, 2023. The spokesperson for the Week, Rosalie Taillefer-Simard, and the ambassador, Luca Patuelli, invite you to highlight this edition under the theme “Contribute 100%”.

Did you know that more than one million people have a significant and persistent disability that makes them likely to encounter barriers in carrying out their activities? Society is not always adapted to their needs. This is why the Semaine québécoise des personnes handicapées highlights the challenges that still exist. It highlights the actions that must be taken to make our world more inclusive. Because even today, we must continue to act to improve the social participation of people with disabilities.

All actions taken count more than you can imagine, whether they are individual or collective. Recognize the range of abilities of people with disabilities so that they can exercise full power over their lives. Take every opportunity to reduce the barriers they face.

Your caring and actions can help a person become involved in society, be independent, take their place and feel good about themselves.

In a more inclusive world, people with disabilities can achieve. Let them contribute to 100% of their abilities!

Dandelion Challenge – A perfect excuse to postpone lawn mowing!

We invite you to join the efforts of other municipalities and let your dandelions grow for a month to help our local pollinators after a particularly harsh winter. Dandelions, the first flowers to bloom in the spring, are an important source of pollen and nectar for the survival of these insects: the mortality rate of honeybees has more than doubled this year, from 20-30% to 65% in some hives.

Dandelions are also good for humans! Try them as a spring green to replace spinach in any dish.
