COVID-19 for those 70 years old and older

 The Municipality has contacted all permanent residents of Ivry-sur-le-Lac aged 70 and over to find out about their physical and psychological health and to ensure that they have family members or friends who can do their shopping and make sure that everything is fine. People seem to have greatly appreciated the Municipality’s initiative however it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that our seniors are well, that they do not put themselves in danger by going to grocery stores or other establishments.

Let’s work together for the good of everyone’s health. If you know of anyone aged 70 and over who seems to need help, please let us know and we will be happy to contact them and make sure they get the essential services they need.

Delivery Services

IGA Extra Marché Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts offers a free delivery service for purchases totaling at least $50 and free for those 65 and over.  Please call (819) 321-1812 from Monday to Thursday between 7:00 am and 11:00 am.

Marché S. Bourassa offers a free delivery service for purchases totaling at least $100.  For all orders between $50 and $100 a fee of $10 applies.  Please call (819) 326-1707 from Monday to Friday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Don’t hesitate, the service is available, it’s up to us to use it! Remember that we are being asked to travel as little as possible, so this is an excellent option to respect the preventive measures in place.

Carport

Spring is slowly setting in, it’s time to think about taking down your carport. A temporary carport on your property is permitted from October 1 of one year to May 1 of the following year under By-law No. 2013-060, Article no.368. It is therefore important to plan to remove it before the end of the permitted period

New washing station for watercraft

The new wash station located behind the municipal garage will officially open its doors in mid-May and we will be ready to welcome you. We remind you that the ultimate goal of this wash station is to increase protection of all water bodies in the territory of Ivry-sur-le-Lac

Scientific studies have shown that invasive exotic species can cause considerable damage, particularly to flora, fauna, water quality, public health and property values. In addition, we also know that several bodies of water in the Laurentian region are unfortunately already affected and it is in our best interest to protect our lakes.

To this end, forms and documentation have already been sent to all citizens who, last year, launched a boat. If you are planning to launch a boat this year for the first time, we invite you to contact the Municipality as soon as possible to obtain all the necessary documentation, as well as the invoice.

It is necessary to follow the complete process to have access to the boat launch:

  • Complete the documentation, sign it, and send it to the Municipality (by mail or e-mail); and
  • Forward your payment (mail or electronic).

Once both steps have been completed, the administrative team will process your application and assign a decal to you.

  • On the day of the launch, you must go to the wash station. Once the wash station team has completed their work, you will be given your decal.
  • You can then proceed to the municipal landing where an attendant will be waiting for you to launch your watercraft.

If you choose to go directly to the wash station, without first sending the documents and payment for pre-processing, you should know that the same administrative steps must be completed before the decal is issued.  This means a longer delay.  For this reason, we ask you to forward everything to the Municipality in order to avoid delays and to ensure the proper functioning of the station.

In the situation where your residence is not on the waterfront and you take your boat out on a daily basis, we offer you the possibility of securing your motor with a self-locking tie-down. If the tie is still in place when you return to the landing, it will be removed and you will be able to access the water without returning to the wash station.  Without this clip, it is essential that you return to the wash station before launching your boat.

Set of By-Law

We are pleased to announce that all the Ivry-sur-le-Lac municipal by-laws may be found on the municipality’s website.  We invite you to consult it in case of need, and we remain available to answer your questions!

New provincial regulation – Dog Control

While the majority of rules governing dogs are the responsibility of municipalities, a new provincial regulation was adopted last December and has been in effect since March 3, 2020. This new regulation applies throughout Quebec. This Act aims to protect people by establishing a framework for dogs. This new provincial regulation takes precedence over any municipal regulation.

This regulation provides that all dogs weighing less than 20 kg must be kept on a leash 1.85 m (5 feet) long at all times in public places. Dogs weighing 20 kg or more must also be equipped with a harness or halter in public places. As per our By-Law No. 24, the provincial by-law requires any owner or guardian of a dog to register it with the Municipality.

This registration must be made within thirty (30) days of the acquisition of the dog or when the dog reaches the age of three (3) months.

MRC des Laurentides

MRC des Laurentides announces the reopening of the Écocentres

As of April 15, 2020, the ecocentres of the MRC des Laurentides will open their doors while requiring the respect of appropriate measures of social distancing.

However, the population is still invited to limit its movements and to postpone, as much as possible, its visits to a later date.
Before going to an ecocentre, it is important to take note of the following conditions:

– The staff will not be able to help citizens handle the materials to be disposed of. Make sure that you are able to dispose of heavy objects independently;
– Expect longer than normal waiting times since the number of citizens will be limited on the sites;
– Given the slowdown in service for the transportation of materials and possible overflows, some materials could be refused depending on the ecocenters’ capacities;
– In compliance with the provincial government’s social distancing guidelines, one person per vehicle will be allowed at the ecocentres (unless the passengers are from the same residence) in order to avoid the control of travel and physical distancing measures on site;
– At the request of staff, citizens will be required to show proof of residence through their vehicle window while keeping it closed.

Online public notice only

 The provisions of section 433.1 of the Code municipal du Québec allow municipalities to determine, by regulation, the manner in which their public notices are to be published, including publication on the Internet.

The Municipalité d’Ivry-sur-le-Lac adopted this by-law in the year 2018 and since then, all notices which must be published are posted only on our website, so this way of doing things allows citizens to access them quickly and at all times.

To access them, here is the hyperlink: https://www.ivry-sur-le-lac.qc.ca/nouvelles-et-avis-publics/. From the home page, the link is right under the municipal newsletter section.

Sport fishing – what can you keep?

According to the Ministère des Forêts, de la Faune et des Parcs, in Ivry-sur-le-Lac, which is situated in zone 9, as elsewhere in Quebec, sport fishing is allowed. However, it is important to remember the daily catch limits on the numbers, size and weight of fish you can keep. Here are the rules that apply to all waterways in the territory as well as additional rules specifically for Lac Manitou.
