2021 Waste Collection Calander
The new collection calendar is now available. It provides the schedule for the placement of garbage, recycling material and compost into the three bins at your disposal. A copy has been added to the mailing of your tax bill.
The calendar is also available on our website:
https://ivry-sur-le-lac.qc.ca/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Ivry-2021-ENG.pdf
Note that the 2020 collection schedule also includes the months of January, February and March 2021, so you can still refer to it, if you have not yet received the 2021 collection schedule.
Time Change
The time will ‘’spring’’ forward on the night of the second Sunday in March, March 14, 2021. The time change allows us to reduce our energy consumption by extending daylight by one hour at the end of the day!
It’s also an opportune time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors!
Activities on Frozen Streams
Due to the large temperature swings we experience each year many streams will not freeze completely and can be risky during the winter. Before venturing out on a waterway, it is important to take the necessary precautions.
Observe the color of the ice, blue and clear ice is usually stronger. White and opaque ice contains a high portion of surface area, its resistance depends on its density. Grey ice usually contains a portion of water, following a thaw for example, and is considered dangerous. No type of ice is 100% safe.
It is also recommended never to venture alone on a frozen lake.

Cadastral Reform – Public Consultation
The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources will consult with property owners as part of the cadastral updating process. In order to respect the directives of the Public Health Department, this consultation will be carried out remotely. In this way, the Ministère can continue its work and the owners can exercise their right to review the new cadastral plan project.
The Ministère has mandated the firm of land surveyors responsible for the work transmitted to the owners. The Ministère asks owners to contact the firm to make an appointment to comment on the project by telephone or other appropriate technological means.

Sport Fishing
Sport fishing in Quebec is regulated by the Ministère des Forêts, Faunes et Parcs. Lake Manitou is located in an area that completely prohibits sport fishing in winter.
However, to find out where it is possible to practice sport fishing in winter, consult the following site: https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/publications/enligne/faune/reglementation-peche/periodes-peche.asp.
Walking with your dog
With all the restrictions imposed on us, walking remains an outdoor activity accessible to many. It is therefore essential that dog owners respect the rules that govern their behaviour.
Here is an excerpt from the Dog Control By-law.
”Every keeper of a dog shall promptly and properly remove the excrement of such dog from any public place and private property. For this purpose, the guardian, accompanied by the dog, shall, when outside the limits of his or her property or dwelling, have in his or her possession the necessary equipment to remove the excrement of the dog and dispose of it in the garbage containers serving his or her residence”.
We count on your usual cooperation.
