The next Council meeting will be held on Monday, July 17, starting at 7:30pm. The Mayor and Council members will welcome you at the Town Hall, 601 chemin de la Gare. You may also attend by videoconference. We invite you to consult the public notice to be published on July 3 for full details. https://ivry-sur-le-lac.qc.ca/nouvelles-et-avis-publics/
Moving City Hall
The project to move the current Town Hall building has unfortunately been abandoned.
A new building will be erected at 601, chemin de la Gare. Location of the Town Hall offices will be indicated in the July Newsletter.
Moving Mailboxes
The mailboxes were moved on June 14 and are now located at 628 chemin de la Gare.
Public Works
Since the thaw, asphalting work has been carried out on several of the Municipal roads. Over 4,000 pounds of asphalt were spread to fill potholes and uneven roads.
At the beginning of June, street sweeping was carried out so that we could start lining the streets and roads. This work should be completed by the end of June 2023.
Safety at Work
Safety is paramount over the coming months..
A number of maintenance projects will be getting underway or are already underway, including on chemin Lacasse and montée Daoust in the municipality. We ask you to respect the signage that will be in place. Our employees have installed new signage on chemin du Lac de la Grise at chemin Lacasse to slow down traffic and ensure their safety, that of contractors carrying out the work (pruning, straightening of several signs, etc.) and that of residents.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE RESUMPTION OF WORK ON CHEMIN LACASSE AND MONTÉE DAOUST
The work will begin with the installation of signage on the evening/night of June 25-26, and will start at the intersection of chemin Lac-de-la-Grise and continue towards montée Daoust, from Monday to Friday, starting June 26.
Only local traffic will be allowed on chemin Lacasse during the work.
There will be a break in the work during the construction vacations, from July 23 to August 5, 2023. Please consult INFO-TRAVAUX on our website.
Nautical Patrol
This year, the Municipality has set up its nautical patrol and is pleased to introduce its patrollers, who are also municipal inspectors under the Merchant Navy Act, enabling them to issue statements of offence. They are Louise Brisebois, Mylène Thibault, Marie-Jade L. Beaudry and Martin Bélanger.
Our Nautical Patrol will ensure compliance with our by-law 2020-115 and its amendments concerning boat washing and the use of the municipal landing stage at Lake Manitou, as well as with the regulations governing the Canada Shipping Act applicable to pleasure boating, more specifically:
- Part 10 of the Canada Shipping Act (2001);
- Small Vessel Regulations;
- Competency of Operators of Pleasure Craft Regulations;
They will inform you, guide you and ensure greater safety on Lake Manitou. If you see your boat on the lake, don’t hesitate to meet and greet them – they’ll be there for you!
Illegal boat launches often take place on vacant lots where no barriers have been installed. We are asking affected property owners to install a barrier at their private entrance in order to stop illegal boat launches, and above all to preserve the health of Lac Manitou. Let’s be vigilant!
Aquatic and Nautical Safety!
Here are the minimum requirements for respecting the rules and sharing waterways with wildlife, swimmers, boaters and boats of all kinds!

National drowning prevention week from July 16 to 22, 2023
DROWING IS PREVENTABLE!
Be an ambassador for National Drowning Prevention Week.
The Lifesaving Society is proud to launch National Drowning Prevention Week (NDPW).
In the run-up to what we hope will be a warm and sunny season, it’s important to remind everyone of the various prevention messages.
The theme of the 30th SNPN will be Drowning is avoidable. By adopting and promoting safe behaviours, and by spreading prevention messages, everyone can contribute to promoting safe interactions with water, and thus reduce the number of drownings in Quebec.
Become an ambassador for National Drowning Prevention Week by completing the membership form! https://societedesauvetage.org/snpn/formulaires/

Four motivated cadets have been appointed by our MRC (two duos) and will be visible in our Municipality this summer. Don’t hesitate to go and meet them.
