Parc \u00c9co Laurentides inaugurates new trails for winter activities. Several activities will be possible on the new trails such as winter biking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Make sure you have your equipment, as no equipment loan\/rental is available this season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The S\u00fbret\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec<\/em> asks for the cooperation of snowmobilers, so that they can engage in their sport in the appropriate places with respect and peace of mind for residents and the environment. Since the beginning of the season, police officers have been raising awareness among snowmobilers riding on private property and sometimes causing major breakdowns at certain facilities.<\/p>\n

Snowmobilers who wish to ride off-trails must first find out where it is legally possible to do so in the area.<\/p>\n

It is also necessary to be familiar with the provisions of the Off-Road Vehicle Act before venturing out.<\/p>\n

Police officers conduct surveillance operations in order to target drivers in violation not only of the Highway Safety Code, but also of the Criminal Code.<\/p>\n

RIDM Adapted Relief Program<\/h3>\n

The R\u00e9gie Incendie des Monts<\/em> (RIDM) is continuing the Programme de Secours Adapt\u00e9s<\/em> for people requiring special assistance for evacuation in case of fire. This program is intended for people with a permanent limitation (auditory, intellectual, motor or visual), which could have an impact on their ability to evacuate their home.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The information gathered through the program allows 911 dispatchers to notify the vehicle en route and ensure an appropriate response.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A membership form https:\/\/ridm.quebec\/programme-de-secours-adaptes<\/a><\/span> must be completed and emailed to info@ridm.quebec<\/a><\/span>. It is also possible to obtain the form from the municipality. Please contact us at 819-321-2332 ext. 3700 for more information.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Shoreline Residents – There is water on my property, what should I do?\u00a0<\/h3>\n

It is normal, during snowmelt, to have an accumulation of water along the edge of the lake due to the higher lake level and the increase in water table and river flows. The absorption capacity of the land is therefore diminished during this period.\u00a0<\/p>\n

If, on the other hand, you notice that the presence of water on your land persists, several factors must be considered and climate change plays a significant role in the evolution of the water table and its behaviour.\u00a0<\/p>\n

If you wish to improve your situation, it is recommended that you refer to a professional, who, through a study they will carry out, will be able to offer you an action plan to improve the natural drainage of the water present. There is no need to refer you to the Municipality, this is not an area of municipal expertise.\u00a0<\/p>\n

If the action plan involves work at or near the shoreline, within fifteen (15) meters of the shoreline from the High-water mark, you must consult the Municipality at this stage, to obtain a certificate of authorization from the Urban Planning Department before starting the work.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The urban planning department will analyze your request and ensure that the work to be carried out complies with municipal regulations.<\/p>\n
