Time change<\/h3>\nWith the advent of the autumn, we \u201cfall back\u201d to Eastern Standard Time (E.S.T.). Since standardization in 2006, with the introduction of the Legal Time Act<\/em>, the time has been moved back one (1) hour on the first Sunday of November. When the time changes, the various fire protection services ask the public to check their smoke alarms for proper operation and to replace the batteries, if necessary. If the work is being carried out near the shoreline, a sign visible to watercraft is preferred. When these are posted properly, the municipality is less likely to receive complaints about your work.<\/p>\n \u00a0The Municipality has received several complaints in recent weeks!<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”Sujet 1″ _builder_version=”4.0.11″ header_font=”|800|||||||” header_3_font=”|600|||||||” custom_margin=”||||false|false” custom_padding=”10px||18px||false|false” border_width_bottom=”1px” border_color_bottom=”rgba(51,51,51,0.13)”]<\/p>\n The inspector responsible for urban planning, roads and the environment has completed his tour of Lac Manitou. The main objective was to inspect shoreline strips. The inspector identified non-compliant shoreline strips, and has sent out the first infraction notices to property owners.<\/p>\n This notice contains the requirements required to comply with the regulations currently in effect concerning shoreline strips. The filing of a plan to the urban planning department of the proposed development is required no later than May 1, 2021. Owners will then have until June 15, 2021 to carry out the development work according to the plan authorized by the municipality’s urban planning department. These include, in particular:<\/p>\n Your elected officials put a great deal of time and energy into creating a map that includes important shoreline, lake protection and safety measures while balancing and respecting the wishes of all citizens, both those who enjoy the serenity of the lake and those who love the water activities in which Lac Manitou allows us to partake.<\/p>\n It is also very important to mention the contribution of the Association for the Improvement of Lac Manitou (AALM) who were consulted on the creation of this map and that a special thanks is extended to Geoffrey Harling, Lyn Lazure Lalonde and Julia-Ann Wilkins for the first version sent to Council.<\/p>\n Electronic public consultation<\/strong><\/p>\n Considering that this map will be displayed in large format at the municipal landing in the form of a sign, the elected officials allow citizens who wish to comment on the said map by sending an e-mail to info@ivry-sur-le-lac.qc.ca<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n making sure to indicate in the subject line “Boating Safety Code”. It is every citizen’s responsibility to ensure that rainwater that flows from their driveway to the street takes a proper path.\u00a0<\/p>\n If the driveway is not well maintained, the water will take the easiest route to the road and will carefully make large cracks in the gravel that will result in bare culverts, bare roadsides under the asphalt and above all may cause major problems due to these new cracks that will unfortunately lead the water to inappropriate places. The staff member responsible for roadway noticed several problems this year due to poorly maintained driveways which had an impact on a long section of the street and of course, this situation requires emergency intervention and generates significant repair costs for the Municipality, which, we remind you, come from municipal taxes.<\/p>\n \u00a0If everyone is focussed on maintaining their driveway, it will be greatly beneficial, so a call to the local excavator could allow you to make your driveway compliant! We hope that this short article will allow you to see the urgency to act and especially to be aware of the many benefits of a well-maintained driveway!
