Dear Citizens,<\/p>\n

Let me thank you for allowing me to work for each of you during this first year of my term. It has been a great privilege and will be for years to come.<\/p>\n

During this year, several by-laws were adopted to preserve and protect our environment. These include increasing the minimum lot size for all new lots to 18,000 square meters, while limiting the deforestation of our natural forest cover.<\/p>\n

Other newly adopted regulations provide us with a platform to partner with developers in projects that are sensitive to the values of the Municipality.<\/p>\n

Wat could be more important than the protection of our lake! To this end, new measures have been added to those already in place with respect to the boat washing program to better protect our lake from invasive species that are becoming more numerous. I would like to reiterate the importance of this program if we want to keep it pure.<\/p>\n

But we still have a lot to do… together!<\/p>\n

Some of the actions taken during the year included partnering with Conservation Manitou to acquire the available land off chemin de la Grise, totaling 171 acres, allowing us to create the Pich\u00e9 Conservation Reserve and Municipal Park, through which part of the Nantel Trail runs crosses.<\/p>\n

In addition, by managing the municipal budget responsibly, we have ensured that the tax rate for 2023 remains the same as it was in 2022.<\/p>\n

Our road network needed attention! We undertook extensive work on Constantineau Road, Lacasse Road, Mont\u00e9e Daoust, Fyon Road, Vall\u00e9e Manitou Road and Lac Manitou Sud Road. We have installed new signs, resurfaced roads, installed new culverts, and more, all for your benefit.<\/p>\n

I would like to remind you of the importance of renovating and expanding the Town Hall to provide you with quality services and a safe working environment for our employees.<\/p>\n

I would like to conclude by expressing my sincere gratitude to the incredible team that makes up our municipal staff: our Director General and Clerk-Treasurer, Mrs. Marie-France Matteau and the administrative staff who know how to surround her so well: Mrs. Myl\u00e8ne Thibault, Caroline Paquin and Louise Brisebois as well as our Councilors Mrs. Julia Bourke, Gabriela Opas and Julia-Ann Wilkins and our Councilors Mr. Maxime Arcand, Jean-Pierre Charette and David Lisbona.<\/p>\n

Activities and Recreation \u2013 Citizen card<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>As Ivry-sur-le-Lac is part of the Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts Agglomeration, the citizens of Ivry-sur-le-Lac have the possibility of obtaining their Agglomeration \u2013 Sainte-Agathe -des-Monts Citizen Card. This allows you the same benefits as residents of the City of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts. The card is valid for all activities offered at the sports center, such as swimming lessons, access to public swimming, hockey, figure skating lessons, public skating. Also, the card includes free access to the Gaston-Miron library.<\/p>\n

How can I get it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Just go to the Gaston-Miron library located at 83, rue Saint-Vincent, Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts. You will need to present proof of residence, i.e., a copy of your assessment notice, an invoice (with your name and address in Ivry-sur-le-Lac). You must also have photo ID with you.<\/p>\n

Control of the emptying of septic systems \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>By-Law no.\u00a02009-031 <\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u00a0Septic tanks must be emptied at least once every two years for homes of permanent residents and at least once every four years for cottages of seasonal residents. Once this is done, it is your responsibility to ensure that the Municipality receives a copy of the service invoice.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Shorelines \u2013 A Priority<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are strict rules regarding the mowing and cutting of the 3 strata of vegetation (herbaceous plants, shrubs, and trees) within 15 meters of the high-water mark<\/strong> .<\/strong><\/p>\n

Furthermore, when the slope is less than 30%, it is permitted to make a five-metre-wide opening inside the shoreline to gain access to the water body, and when the slope is equal to or greater than 30%, it is permitted to create a 1.2-\"\"metre pathway made without filling or excavation. Two openings are possible, however the maximum width for both openings must be respected, i.e., 1.2 or 5 metres in total. And it is important to note that there is no \u2018\u2019grandfathered\u2019\u2019 right for landscaping.<\/p>\n

The importance of conserving native riparian plants is undeniable for the health of water bodies, so be proactive and be a role model!<\/p>\n

Ministry of the Environment and the Fight against Climate Change, MELCC<\/strong><\/p>\n

On March 1st, the transitional regularity framework for the management of shorelines, littoral zones and flood-prone areas came into effect. This framework was put in place to ensure the safety of the population in the face of flooding and the protection of waterways. This transitional regime governs work permitted along shorelines, littoral zones, and flood risk areas. It supersedes municipal by-laws that set standards for such work.<\/p>\n

As our municipal by-law is more permissive, some permit or certificate applications may require additional authorization(s) from the MELCC, and possibly the Ministry of Forests, Wildlife and Parks, before the municipality is able to issue your permit. If you are planning projects on the shoreline or littoral (concerning your boathouse, dock, or other) we strongly suggest that you start the process now to obtain all the necessary authorizations that will allow you to obtain your municipal permit or certificate before the work begins.<\/p>\n

Dog Owners <\/strong>By-Law no.\u00a02020-118 (Contr\u00f4le des chiens<\/em>) et 2013-062 (Nuisances<\/em>)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Every owner must obtain a dog license within fifteen (15) days of the acquisition of the animal, its permanent arrival on the territory or before it reaches the age of three months.<\/p>\n

Costs: $25 (spayed\/neutered), $40 (not spayed\/neutered), $15 (replacement of a lost tag)<\/p>\n
