COUNCIL MEETINGS
Ordinary and extraordinary meetings of the municipal council are public and all citizens are welcome.
They take place on the 3rd Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m., in the Council Chamber, 601 chemin de la Gare in Ivry-sur-le-Lac.

2025 MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
November 2, 2025, municipal general election
A general election will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
Candidacy
Eligibility
To be eligible to run as a candidate, you must:
- Be entitled to register on the municipality’s electoral list and meet all of the following criteria on polling day:
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Be a Canadian citizen.
- Not have lost your right to vote due to guardianship.
- Not having been convicted of corrupt electoral practice in the last five years.
- Be in one of the following situations:1-Be e domiciled on the territory of the municipality and, for at least six months, in Quebec. OR Be the owner of a building or the occupant of a business establishment located on the territory of the municipality for at least 45 days on polling day.
- reside on the territory of the municipality at the time you file your nomination papers.
- not be in a situation of ineligibility.
If you meet the above criteria, you are entitled to be entered on the municipality’s electoral roll. There is, however, one exception: if your domicile is not in the municipality, but the residence that makes you eligible is co-owned or constitutes a business establishment of which you are a co-occupant, you must take additional steps before being eligible.
How do I apply?
To submit your candidacy, you must complete the nomination form (SM-29) provided by the President.

The period for filing nomination papers runs from the 44th day to the 30th day before the polling day, i.e. from September 19, 2025, to October 3, 2025, before 4:30 pm.

Donations to candidates
You can donate up to $200 to each candidate running in a general election. Your donation must be made directly to the candidate. If the amount exceeds $50, you must make your donation by personal cheque. In addition to the $200, the candidate may make a personal donation of up to $800 for expenses incurred to promote his or her election.
Control of expenses
Only a candidate may incur and pay expenses to promote his or her election. These expenses are limited according to the donations received and the candidate’s personal donation. The candidate must prepare a donation form. This form must be submitted to the municipal treasurer, who will provide a copy to Elections Québec.
Right to vote
To vote, you must be a qualified elector:
- Be on the electoral roll
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Be a Canadian citizen
- Not be under curatorship, deprived of your electoral rights
Also, meet one of the following conditions:
- Be domiciled on the territory of the municipality and, for at least six months, in Québec
- Have been, for at least 45 days, the owner of an immovable or the occupant of a business establishment, within the meaning of the Act respecting municipal taxation, located on the territory of the municipality.
Reference date is polling day, November 2, 2025.
Non-domiciled
If you are not domiciled on the territory of the Municipality of Ivry-sur-le-Lac but have owned a building or occupied a business establishment for at least 45 days as of November 2, 2025, you may exercise your right to vote. You must ask the electoral president, in writing, to register you on the list of electors, using forms SMRC-9.1 or SMRC-9.2.
If you are a co-owner of an immovable or co-occupant of a business establishment, you must designate, by proxy, the person who is entitled to be entered on the list of electors.
If you have already applied for registration to the municipality, it remains valid until withdrawn or replaced.
September 26, 2025, is the last day to receive registration applications from non-resident voters before the electoral roll is finalized. Applications received between September 29 and October 23, 2025, before 4:30 p.m., will be processed by the revision committee.
It is the elector’s responsibility to ensure that he or she is correctly entered on the electoral list.

A copy of the list of electors will be available at the office of the electoral president as of October 6, 2025.
Voting
Polling day is scheduled for November 2, 2025, between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., at Town Hall, 601 chemin de la Gare, Ivry-sur-le-Lac.
The advance poll will take place on October 26, 2025, between noon and 8:00 p.m., at the Town Hall located at 601, chemin de la Gare, Ivry-sur-le-Lac.
The municipality of Ivry-sur-le-Lac offers eligible voters the possibility of voting by mail, if the following situation applies: (non-domicile only)
– Your domicile is not on the territory of the municipality.
Mail-in ballots will be sent out by regular mail starting on the week of October 6, 2025.
If you are registered to vote by mail and have not received your ballots within a few days of their mailing, you may contact the election president to receive new ballots.
Ballots must be received in the office of the electoral presdident no later than Friday, October 31, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.
Mobile voting is another way to exercise your right to vote and is available to all electors with reduced mobility or unable to move about for health reasons who are domiciled within the municipality’s territory.
- Available to residents only.
- It is exercised on the territory of the municipality only, at the elector’s domicile.
- Must apply verbally or in writing to the election president.
- Caregivers may also be eligible to vote if they are registered on the list of electors in the same polling subdivision as the eligible elector.
The deadline for receiving a request for a mobile vote is October 21, before 4:30 p.m.
Mobile voting will take place on October 27 and 28, 2025, depending on demand.
Revision Committee
The revision commission is a body made up of three revisors appointed by the electoral president.
The board’s mandate is to receive applications for changes to the list of electors: registration, removal, correction.
It must render a decision on all applications.
The board of revisors will be in operation to receive electors at the Town Hall located at 601, chemin de la Gare, Ivry-sur-le-Lac, on the following dates and times.
- October 14, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- October 16, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The work of the commission (investigation and other) must be completed by 4:30 p.m. on October 23, 2025.
MANDOTARY TRAINING FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS
Mandatory Training for Elected Officials
In accordance with section 15 of the Loi sur l’éthique et la déontologie en matière municipale, all newly elected and re-elected members of the municipal council must take ethics and professional conduct training within six months of taking office.
The Municipality of Ivry-sur-le-Lac is required to publish the list of elected officials who have completed the mandatory ethics training.

REMUNERATION OF THE ELECTED OFFICERS
Elected officers are paid under the Wages for Elected Municipal Representative Act which regulates the remuneration of elected officers, spending allowances, indexation and reimbursements.
Section 2 of the Act provides that the council of a municipality may, through by-law, fix the remuneration of its mayor and other members. To that effect, on February 18, 2024, the municipal council adopted by-law 2024-157 repealing by-law 2018-108 establishing the salary of elected municipal officers.

REPRESENTATIVES
Planning Advisory Committee (PAC)
The Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) is a committee mandated by the municipal council to advice on applications submitted with respect to urban planning and land use planning.
This committee is governed by the Land Use Planning and Development Act (LUPDA). It is composed of at least one municipal council member and residents appointed by resolution of the municipal council. In Ivry-sur-le-Lac, the PAC has one elected officer and five citizens. The term of office of the members-citizens is two years and is renewable.
The PAC’s decisions are relayed to the council as recommendations. The council has the freedom to accept or not accept the PAC’s recommendation. The council may also ask the PAC to analyze any other project or specific request for urban planning and land use planning.

To become aware of the dates of the next meetings of the PAC, see the 2025 calendar. However, please note that a meeting can be canceled in the absence of topics to be discussed; it is always better to get information about these meetings before attending.
